My friend Andy joined the Fuji X100s club recently so to celebrate we decided to go exploring. We ventured to the outskirts of downtown Charlotte to the old abandoned East Coast Bible College. It was nice to get out of my personal element and shoot some "grit".
I walked around the streets of Downtown Charlotte testing out my newest lens, the Olympus M.Zuiko ED 12-40mm f2.8 PRO. This was my first zoom lens for a mirrorless camera. The first thing I noticed was how easy it was to manually focus. The second was the sharpness. This lens is a must have for any OM-D shooter. I'll eventually trade in my OM-D E-M5 when the Fuji X-T1 is released but I'll be holding onto this baby for my Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera.
Hands down my favorite place to take the lady out for dinner in the city, Soul Gastrolounge is far more than just good eats. Andy Maurer has assembled a talented staff behind the bar and collectively, the've spun out some awesome seasonal cocktails.
This is my first crack at a music video. Assisted by my friend Josh Faggart, we shot the first single for Scowl Brow. Shot on location at Sioux Sioux Studio in Plaza Midwood, this was an awesome project to be a part of.
I shot most of the footage with an Olympus OM-D E-M5 and a combo of the M.Zuiko 75mm f1.8 (for close ups) and a M.Zuiko 12mm f2.0 (for the wider angles). In my opinion after seeing the finished product, if the E-M5 could shoot 24 fps it would be just as legit as any DSLR on the market.
